I love enamel jewellery. It must be so exciting putting the half-finished object in the oven and wondering what the colour, the texture or the surface will look like. It is a mixture of experimentation, hard work and amazing talent that gives us objects like the ones in this post.
40 contemporary artists have created their own masterpieces with this ‘old-fashioned’ method. The exhibition “Die Renaissance des Emaillierens” is opening today at Galerie Handwerk in Munich.
“…We believe this topic is currently highly relevant, as many young gold and silversmiths have begun to devote themselves to this technique…we would like to document and show this observation”.
